Moving to Colorado Springs this summer?
If your a parent, you surely have asked yourself "Where can we send our children to school in Colorado Springs?". This may be a loaded question for some, seeing that Colorado Springs offers many choices when it comes to schools.
There are of course Public Schools, but also Private Schools and Charter Schools in Colorado Springs. Not to forget, Colorado Springs has a healthy community of Home Schooled as well.
School District 11 is the largest Public School District in Colorado Springs, but it's not the only one. Here is a list of Public Schools in or near Colorado Springs:
Charter Schools are another option in Colorado Springs. What exactly is a Charter School? Charter Schools receive public funding, but have been freed from some of the rules and regulations that apply to other public schools in exchange for some type of accountability for producing certain results, which are set forth in each schools charter. They are not allowed to charge tuition because they are part of the public education system. Charter Schools in Colorado Springs and elsewhere, attempt to provide a better and more efficient general education than nearby public schools. Some Charter Schools are founded by teachers, parents, or activists who feel restricted by traditional public schools. Here is a list of Charter Schools in Colorado Springs:
As you see, Colorado Springs has many Schools to choose from. As mentioned earlier, there are also Private Schools in Colorado Springs. Private Schools are not administrated by the state or national government. They retain the right to select their students and are funded in whole or in part by charging their students a tuition, rather than relying on state funds.
When you Buy Home in Colorodo Springs, Rent a Home in Colorado Springs, or live on Fort Carson, there are many Schools to choose from that hopefully will fit your families needs. We hope the best for you and your family during your search!
