The community of Fountain is located along the rugged Rocky Mountain Range.It runs along highway 85, about 13 miles from Colorado Springs. Fountain was originally named for the nearby creek bearing the same name, this neighborhood boasts beautiful weather with an average of more than 250 days of sunshine annually. With a land size of approximately fourteen square miles, Fountain holds a population of about 19,000 residents and makes a lovely addition to El Paso County. The economy within the community is self-sufficient and rather diverse. Some industries providing employment include educational, health, social services, retail trade and manufacturing As well as a significant amount of military service support personnel. Residents with children in grades K-12 will find the proper educational accommodations through Fountain School District 8 with two public high schools and five public middle/primary schools. Those in pursuit of a degree in higher education will find five nearby college and university campuses at their disposal including the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Local recreational amenities include several museums and regional parks, such as Garden of the Gods and the World Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame.
